Strong spending to underpin Phl’s steady growth - Tetangco

Economic growth is expected to remain supported by strong domestic consumption, ongoing public infrastructure projects and a slow but steady rise in private capital spending, according to former Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas governor Amando Tetangco Jr.

Citing positive projections from international financial institutions, Tetangco, chairman of SM Investment Corp., said the country stands to benefit from the ongoing infrastructure programs and recent policy reforms.

“Countries and companies that keep the direction clear, uphold governance and follow through on commitments tend to move forward even in periods of uncertainty,” Tetangco said in his keynote speech during the BusinessWorld Forecast 2026 forum.
