STOCKHOLM SWEET HOME: IKEA FINDS POETRY IN EVERYDAY DESIGN

Consider this collection a love letter to the everyday: 7 a.m. coffee, dinner with friends, finally sorting your shelves (for records, books or — for funkier homes — graphic novels with Alex Ross or Lee Bermejo covers). It celebrates the sweet, lived-in chaos and comfort of real homes.

STOCKHOLM SWEET HOME: IKEA FINDS POETRY IN EVERYDAY DESIGN

Now imagine these dream-home components, flat-packed and flown or shipped halfway across the world, landing in Manila as a glowing temple to Swedish logic and democratic design. Sounds like something out of a Jonathan Hickman arc? Not quite. This is Ikea's Stockholm 2025 collection, which is proof that good design doesn't shout or wax flashy. It just shows up: honest, human, and ready to be lived in.

Spotlighted by Ikea Philippines at Opus Mall recently, Stockholm consists of 93 thoughtfully designed pieces that celebrate the beauty of natural materials, timeless design, and the accessible luxury of living well.

For Ricardo Pinheiro, Ikea Philippines country retail manager, this collection is not just another seasonal offering; it's a philosophical statement. "It feels both global and deeply personal," he says. "Warm, welcoming, and made to last — perfect for Filipino spaces, whether it's a condo or a spacious family home."

The latest Stockholm collection, which celebrates its 40th anniversary, is anchored by a commitment to what Ikea calls "Democratic Design" — a five-part framework that guides every product: form, function, quality, sustainability, and low price. These aren't aspirational labels, but real constraints built into the design process from the very beginning. "Democratic design is very close to our roots," says Pinheiro. "It's the way we develop our range. It's about creating a better everyday life for many people."
