RA 12232 also moved the BSKE scheduled on Dec. 1, 2025 to the first Monday of November 2026 and every four years thereafter.
Under RA 12232, current BSK officials serving their third consecutive term shall not be eligible to run for the same position in the November 2026 polls.
Marcos said the BSKE must be postponed again for the Comelec to fully focus on the first-ever Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao parliamentary elections on Oct. 13.
