Reward for arrest of port exec’s killer raised

To encourage witnesses to come forward, the cash reward for the arrest of the killer of an official of the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) in Palawan has been increased, police said yesterday.

From P380,000 on Friday, the reward increased to P630,000 yesterday after Puerto Princesa Mayor Lucilo Bayron and city councilor Gerry Abad gave P200,000 and P50,000, respectively, according to Capt. Brian Rayoso, spokesperson for the special investigation task group created to handle the case.

Earlier, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and the IBP-Palawan chapter offered P100,000 each, while councilors Epitacio Lao and Elgin Damasco, and provincial board member Ryan Maminta gave P50,000 each. Kalayaan Vice Mayor MP Albayda gave P30,000.
