DISNEY'S 'BEAUTY AND THE BEAST' STARS ON WHY THE MUSICAL IS WORTH THE SG TRIP

Australian theater stars Shubshri Kandiah and Brendan Xavier Belle and the Beast in Disney's 'Beauty and the Beast' musical - lead the show's Asian launch in Singapore. Produced by Disney Theatrical Group and presented by Base Entertainment Asia, the reimagined production is making its only regional stop at Marina Bay Sands from Dec. 11 to Jan. 25, 2026. THE FIRST DISNEY-PRODUCED “BEAUTY AND THE BEAST” MUSICAL in over 25 years is coming to Asia to close out 2025 and ring in 2026.

Making its only regional stop in neighboring Singapore, specifically at the Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands for a strictly limited run from Dec. 11 to Jan. 25, 2026, this brand-new production of “Beauty and the Beast” is produced by Disney Theatrical Group and presented in Singapore by Base Entertainment Asia. It’s the same production team behind the successful seasons of “The Lion King,” “Aladdin,” and “Frozen.”

This “tale as old as time” will be reimagined with new sets, costume designs, and technology, and told through the iconic songs—Belle, Gaston, Be Our Guest, and the titular Beauty and the Beast—by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman, and Tim Rice.

Based on the 1991 animated film, which went on to become the first animated feature nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture, “Beauty and the Beast” is one of Broadway's longest-running shows and has toured to 37 countries worldwide to date.

For this Singapore run, Disney Theatrical Group cast Australian theater stars Shubshri Kandiah and Brendan Xavier in the lead roles of Belle and the Beast.

“The excitement we felt in the audition room when Brendan and Shubshri performed for us was electric,” said director/choreographer Matt West.

West served as the choreographer of the first Broadway production of “Beauty and the Beast.”

“We are thrilled that Singapore will have the pleasure of witnessing their interpretation that has been acclaimed by audiences and reviewers alike throughout the last two years in Australia,” he added.
