DBM OKs 4,000 PCG positions

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has approved the Philippine Coast Guard's request for the creation of 4,000 uniformed positions for the PCG.
In a statement yesterday, the DBM said the positions, which were approved by Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, are composed of 819 PCG officers and 3,181 non-officers.
"The creation of positions shall increase the manpower of the PCG to 34,430 from the existing 30,430 authorized positions," the DBM said.
