Who's Doctor Who, and what's the name 007?
The Observer
|May 25, 2025
This weekend the fates of Doctor Who and James Bond are in doubt.
And the involvement of two US entertainment giants seems responsible.
The current Doctor, Ncuti Gatwa, has reportedly been released from the BBC's Tardis after a row over his alleged refusal to take part in the final of Eurovision last weekend. It was claimed in the Sun and the Daily Mail that Gatwa withdrew from a scheduled appearance because the Israeli contestant, the subject of a boycott campaign, made it to the final. Fan sites swiftly lined up potential successors. Billie Piper is in pole position.
