NC urges HM Shah to announce financial package, restore statehood

As Union Home Minister Amit Shah prepares for his two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir starting May 29, Advocate Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of the J&K National Conference (NC), called on the Centre to announce a comprehensive financial package for civilians affected by recent cross-border shelling and to fulfill the long-pending promise of restoring statehood to the Union Territory.
In a press statement issued today, Gupta highlighted the severe impact of the recent India-Pakistan conflict, especially in Poonch, Rajouri, and other border districts. “We have lost nearly 23 innocent lives and witnessed significant destruction of homes, infrastructure, and livelihoods,” he said.
