Deforestation Worsens Climate Crisis
The Northlines
|July 14, 2025
In recent years, the Earth has been reeling under the impact of rising temperatures, increasingly erratic weather patterns, and the escalating wrath of climate change.
-
One of the gravest contributors to this crisis is large-scale deforestation, which is stripping nature of its most powerful defense mechanism—forests. Trees not only act as carbon sinks but also help regulate the water cycle and stabilize local climates. Their indiscriminate removal is disrupting ecological balance, warming the atmosphere, and setting off a chain reaction of environmental catastrophes. From scorching heat waves to flash floods, the consequences are visible, alarming, and worsening by the year.
