IN a dramatic twist in the Dharmasthala mass burial case, the Special Investigation Team on Saturday arrested the whistleblower and complainant on charges of perjury.
The complainant who hailed from Mandya district, was taken into custody following forensic evidence that contradicted his claims, SIT officials said.
The arrest came a day after SIT chief Pranab Mohanty inquired him for several hours. On Saturday, he was subjected to a medical test and produced before the jurisdictional court in Dharmasthala, which remanded him to custody for 10 days.
