THE proceedings of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were suspended without conducting any business for the fourth day in a row on Friday, following Opposition uproar over several contentious issues such as Adani bribery charges, the Sambhal violence and Manipur.
In Lok Sabha, the Opposition demanded a discussion on the US indictment of Adani Group. Though Congress MP Manickam Tagore filed an adjournment notice to discuss the issue, the Speaker refused to oblige the demand.
Tagore, in his notice, said that the issue is of "public importance," and "strikes at the core of the public trust in India's governance and regulatory framework."
Congress MPs have been persistent in their demand to discuss the Adani indictment in the Lok Sabha since the start of the winter session on November 25.
