Former Bihar deputy CM Sushil Modi dies at 72

FORMER Bihar Deputy Chief Minister, Sushil Kumar Modi, a stalwart of Indian politics and a dedicated servant of Bihar, passed away on Monday evening at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi after a valiant sixmonth battle with cancer.

Modi suffered from the end stage of urinary bladder cancer, which had spread to his bones, according to AIIMS sources. He was 72. Sushil Modi's courage and transparency were evident when he chose to reveal his illness to the public in April. Unable to participate in the campaigning for the Lok Sabha election, he expressed his feelings on the social media platform 'X', stating, "I have been battling cancer for the last 6 months. Now I feel that the time has come to tell people. I will not be able to do anything in the Lok Sabha elections. I have told everything to the PM. Always grateful and always dedicated to the country, Bihar, and the party." Born on January 5, 1952, Modi's political journey was as illustrious as it was impactful.
