Cabinet approves BioE3, Vigyan Dhara policies to support R&D and tech

THE Centre on Saturday unveiled two innovative schemes 'BioE3' (Biotechnology for Economy, Environment and Employment) and 'Vigyan Dhara' with detailed policy framework for their implementation to support Research and Development (R&D) and Science & Technology.
Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, while briefing the media, said the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the two policy measures at its meeting.
The minister said the 'BioE3' policy has been framed with an aim to foster high-performance bio-manufacturing, as it seeks to include innovation-driven support for R&D and entrepreneurship across thematic sectors.
