CM announces reforms to bolster livestock and poultry, lays emphasis on horticulture
CHIEF Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has emphasised the crucial role of the Animal Husbandry Department in driving Andhra Pradesh's economic growth, pledging continued priority to it under his government. The animal husbandry sector contributes 11.23% to the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), underscoring its economic significance.
Speaking at the Animal Husbandry-Tech AI 2.0 Conclave in Vijayawada on Wednesday, Naidu highlighted Andhra Pradesh's national rankings, first in egg production, fifth in meat production, and seventh in milk production. He noted that the dairy industry transforms rural economies, supporting over 42 lakh families reliant on livestock.
Naidu engaged directly with dairy farmers and shepherds to understand their financial dynamics and explored innovations in dairy, poultry, and livestock farming, particularly the integration of AI.
