Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's expected visit to the ethnic violence-hit state of Manipur later this month, the Union home ministry held a meeting on Wednesday with representatives of the Kuki-Zo insurgent groups and the Manipur government to finalize terms for renewing the Suspension of Operation (SoO) pact, sources said.

However, they maintained that there was "no concrete outcome" and that a fresh round of talks would take place, with the date and venue to be decided later. Sources said the ministry's Northeast adviser, A K Mishra and Intelligence Bureau officials held discussions with representatives of the Kuki-Zo insurgent groups.
