India, China to resume direct flight service, Mansarovar yatra

INDIA and China have agreed upon a slew of people-centric measures to stabilise and rebuild the relationship between two nations following an agreement last October aimed at easing tensions along the border during a two-day visit of Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri to Beijing that ended on Monday.
These measures to normalise the relationship include an in-principle agreement to restart direct air services, resume the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, revive mechanisms for trans-border rivers, and increase people-to-people exchanges.
The two sides have also agreed to a number of commemorative activities to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, a Ministry of External Affairs release said.
