CCTV Watch Irks Trainee Women Cops in UP

Amid repeated claims by Yogi Adityanath on the UP government's commitment to women's safety, protests erupted at the PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary) training center in Bichhia, Gorakhpur, on Wednesday morning as over 600 trainee female constables stormed out of their barracks, crying and shouting slogans.

The commotion, triggered merely two days after the commencement of training for the female constables on July 21, began over allegations of grave mismanagement, lack of basic amenities, and disturbingly, the presence of surveillance cameras near the bathroom area, compromising the privacy of trainee women constables.

As per sources, the protesting trainees alleged the presence of CCTV cameras in the bathroom galleries, claiming they were being recorded. According to multiple trainees, it made them feel violated and unsafe.
