THE Crime Branch of Delhi Police is set to take over the probe into the FIR filed against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for allegedly pushing and injuring BJP MPs during the scuffle on the Parliament premises, sources said on Friday.
Senior officials have indicated that the first step in the probe will involve inspecting the Makar Dwar area where the incident unfolded.
The clash, which escalated during protests by MPs from both the ruling NDA and the Opposition, left BJP MPs Mahesh Rajput and Pratap Sarangi injured. Both the MPs, currently receiving treatment at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, are expected to provide crucial statements, the officials said.
