|September 01, 2025
The Election Commission of India (ECI) plans to issue new voter identity cards to all electors in Bihar after the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is complete, officials said.
However, the poll panel is yet to firm up the timeframe for the issuance of the new cards, they added.
When the electors were given enumeration forms, they were asked to submit their latest photographs as well. Officials said the new voter ID cards will have these photos.
According to Bihar's draft electoral roll published on August 1, the state has 7.24 crore electors. The final voters list will be published on September 30.
