'Kamal playing language politics for personal gain'

ACCUSING actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan of stoking linguistic sentiments for political and personal gain, former Telangana governor and senior BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan on Thursday said the Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) chief has resorted to "language politics" following his RS nomination through the DMK.
Addressing reporters in Gudiyatham, Vellore, Soundararajan claimed Haasan was attempting to boost his film career by invoking divisive rhetoric. "After joining the DMK and receiving a RS seat, Kamal Haasan has started engaging in language politics to promote his films. He portrays himself as a martyr of the Tamil cause but ends up insulting other languages and their speakers. Such statements mislead the youth and should be avoided," she said.
