Transgender people seek construction of houses

DEMANDING that the district administration complete the construction of houses allotted for them, a group of transgender people blocked the Thoothukudi-Tirunelveli NH in front of the district collectorate on Monday.
Led by Aarthi, they said that 31 trans persons were given free patta in 2019, and subsequently allotted houses under the green house scheme. Since then, the homes have been constructed but not completed.
Aarthi said that though several collectors have changed, the construction works are yet to be completed.
