Plan to boost ties between farmers, agri officers soon

MINISTER for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare MRK Panneerselvam, in his reply to the debate on the Agriculture Budget for 2025-26, announced the government would soon launch 'Uzhavar Aluvalar Thodarbu Thittam (Farmer Official Connect Scheme) 2.0' to enhance coordination between farmers and agricultural officers.
He further added the price of paddy is currently fixed at ₹2,450 per quintal, which will soon be increased to ₹2,500.
During his reply, the minister highlighted the government's outreach efforts, stating 28 consultation meetings were held over the past four years, engaging 4,478 farmers.
