SKIPPER Ruturaj Gaikwad set the tone upfront (53 off 26 balls) and Rachin Ravindra (65 n.o off 45 balls) finished the job as Chennai Super Kings beat Mumbai Indians by four wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday.

Chasing 156, CSK opened with Rahul Tripathi and Rachin but the former fell early. However, Gaikwad got going and helped CSK finish strongly in the powerplay (62/1). Even after he got out and wickets kept falling at the other end, Rachin held fort and took CSK across the line with MS Dhoni at the other end.

Earlier, Deepak Chahar's late rescue act helped Mumbai get to 155/9. For Chennai, spinner Noor Ahmad was the star of the show as he took 4/18 in four overs.
