Flush with orders, BHEL to help revive ancillary units

SEVERAL ancillary industries in the region dependent on the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) could be soon on the path of revival as the PSU behemoth has secured orders worth ₹1.76 lakh crore for the production of boilers during the just-ended fiscal year, 2024-25.
It is after a decade BHEL bagged such large orders, officials said. Two decades ago, numerous ancillary industries operated in Tiruchy, sustained by orders from BHEL. However, most of them have since shut down as orders dried up.
