The sharper-than-expected 50 basis point repo rate cut, along with a 100 basis point reduction in the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR), triggered a strong market rally on Friday.
The benchmark Nifty50 surged over 350 points from its intraday low to close above the 25,000 mark, while the BSE Sensex ended near 82,200.
Investors piled into rate-sensitive sectors, driving gains in banking, NBFC, auto, and realty stocks. At Friday's close, the Sensex advanced 746.95 points or 0.92% to settle at 82,188.99, and the Nifty surged 252.15 points or 1.02% at 25,003.05. In the broader market, the BSE midcap index added 0.9% and smallcap index jumped 0.4%.
