1st freight train from Punjab reaches Anantnag

IN a first, a train carrying a freight of cement reached Anantnag Goods Shed in Jammu & Kashmir from Punjab's Rupnagar, thus connecting the Valley to the national freight network.
The inaugural freight train loaded with 21 wagons of cement reached the newly commissioned Anantnag shed, covering a distance of around 600 km, in less than 18 hours.
The cement transported by the train will be used for crucial development projects in the Kashmir Valley.
Northern Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay said the logistics for this groundbreaking journey were executed with utmost precision.
