Army hunts for ammunition to protect air defence assets

AIMING to bolster security of the Indian Army's ground-based Air Defence assets against drones, the Indian Army Air Defence branch has released a Request for Information (RFI) to identify prospective vendors (DPSUs/Private Vendors) to undertake manufacturing of 23mm Anti-Drone Ammunition under Make in India.
The RFI, a formal process under which potential suppliers or information is sought about a product or service, requested interested companies/firms/vendors (both public and private) for undertaking manufacturing of 23mm Anti Drone Ammunition in India.
"The 23mm Anti Drone ammunition is intended to be used with the existing Zu 23mm & Schilka Weapon System for destruction of drones.
