Two Akka Cafes to be opened at Soraba, Shikaripura in Shivamogga soon

In order to empower women of Self Help Groups (SHGs) economically, two ‘Akka Cafe’ canteens managed and run by women of SHGs will be opened at Shikaripura and Soraba taluk shortly.

‘Akka Cafe’ is a Karnataka government initiative launched to foster women’s entrepreneurship by training and supporting women from self-help groups (SHGs) to run their own cafes and kiosks.

Zilla Panchayat CEO N Hemanth told The New Indian Express that the state government has introduced the initiative to help women of self-help groups to generate income and establish financial independence on their own. In the first phase, ‘Akka Cafes’ will be opened at Shikaripura and Soraba taluk shortly.
