Rotary Club of Chitradurga sets up solar-powered 10-bed dialysis unit

WITH an intention of providing better treatment facilities for patients with kidney diseases, the Rotary Club of Chitradurga has set up a state-of-the-art ten-bedded dialysis centre in the city, and the entire cost of the machines, buildings, solar panels has been borne by the Rotary Club members of the city.

The entire building runs on solar power, to which Selco Foundation has installed the solar panels, batteries, and the necessary equipment. Twenty-two 22 kW solar offered system, supported by Selco Foundation, has already been installed at a cost of Rs 30 lakhs. The daily requirement of power to the hospital is 50 to 60 units, and the entire hospital is run by solar power.
