THE flood situation in Punjab shows no signs of relief, with 24 lives lost so far. Approximately 1,018 villages remain affected, and standing crops across 1.51 lakh acres have been inundated in nine districts of Punjab owing to the overflowing Ravi, Beas, and Sutluj. A total of 11,330 people have been rescued, and 4,711 evacuated and relocated to safer places.
