Transgender rights activist and KPCC vice-president Akkai Padmasali has demanded one per cent political reservation for sexual minorities in the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, state assemblies, and legislative councils across the country.

Speaking at an event to distribute insurance bonds to sexual minorities as part of the 83rd birthday celebrations of AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge at the Congress Bhavan here on Tuesday, Padmasali said the Constitution guarantees equal political representation to all citizens, irrespective of gender.
