Trade unions demand pension for all workers

CITU national secretary K N Umesh criticised the Central government for failing to ensure minimum wages and post-retirement pensions for workers, during a workshop on 'Social Security and the Need for Pension' held in Mysuru on Saturday.

He said the pension is not charity but a fundamental right of every employee. "It is unfortunate that those who raise voice in support of the common man and the problems of the working class are branded as anti-national and are illegally arrested," he regretted.
