Mysuru gears up for roots, tuber festival

MYSURU will witness a unique celebration of nature's underground bounty as Sahaja Samrudha, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Mysore (West), will organise the roots and tuber festival on February 8 and 9 at Nanjaraja Bahadhur Chatra.
Speaking about the event, Krishnaprasad of Sahaja Samrudha emphasised the nutritional and environmental significance of tubers. "They are rich in carbohydrates, dietary fiber, and starch, helping combat obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. Their drought-resistant nature also makes them vital for food security and climate adaptation," he noted.
