DC Orders Ban on Entering Cauvery River

DUE to continuous rainfall in the catchment areas of the Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) reservoir over the past few days, the Cauvery Neeravari Nigama Limited (CNNL) is preparing to release between 30,000 and 50,000 cusecs of water into the Cauvery river.
In light of this, Deputy Commissioner Kumar, who also heads the District Disaster Management Authority, has issued strict orders banning public access to the riverbanks near tourist spots.
