Condolences galore to statesman politician

THE passing away of former chief minister S M Krishna has brought us great pain besides his demise being an irreparable loss to the nation, Agriculture Minister N Chaluvarayaswamy has said while expressing his condolences.

Speaking to media persons at Somanahalli village in Maddur taluk after reviewing the preparations made by the district administration for the last rites of the statesman, Chaluvarayaswamy said: "Mandya district is famous for many things, and the birth and achievements of S M Krishna has brought a big name to the district. His discipline in life and statesmanship are admirable. During his administration, Krishna gave more emphasis to IT, BT industries, built Udyoga Soudha, started the Cauvery Neeravari Nigama and the CESC department. In addition to implementing the Stree Shakti Yojana, he has done a lot of good development work. He provided food and accommodation to the children of daily wage workers and built the Mysuru-Bengaluru highway. All his works have inspired us."
Meanwhile in Mysuru district, political leaders across party lines, members of various organisations and associations and social activists condoled the death of the former chief minister.
