Irrigation officials have released more than 28 tmc ft of water to TN in June from Kabini
WITH the Kabini reservoir brimming with water for a month, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, along with his cabinet colleagues, may offer Bagina on July 19. As CM Siddaramaiah is all set to tour the district to lay the foundation stone for the new KSRTC hi-tech bus stand at Bannimantap at a cost of Rs 120 crore and partake in other functions, the irrigation department has started preparations for the Bagina programme at Beechanhlli in Heggadevana Kote.
The Kabini reservoir recorded its highest flow, following heavy rain in the neighbouring Wayanad district of Kerala. Irrigation officials have released more than 28 tmc ft of water to Tamil Nadu in June as against the quota of 9 tmc ft.
