Centre must form 'Common Tribunals' to resolve water disputes

FORMER environment secretary and irrigation expert Captain Raja Rao said the Central government must constitute 'Common Tribunals' to resolve the river water disputes and get the bill pending in Rajya Sabha passed at the earliest.
Speaking on 'Awareness on Land and Water: A Review' during the 87th Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelana in Mandya on Saturday, Rao said the state has to use nearly 540 tmc of additional water in the coming years.
