BANDH AFFECTS NORMAL LIFE IN CITY

KSRTC, private buses stay off roads causing inconvenience to students, office staff, patients

NORMAL life was hit as the City of Palaces observed a near total bandh on Tuesday over Union Home Minister Amit Shah's comments against Dr B R Ambedkar during a debate in Rajya Sabha recently. The bandh was called by the Consortium of Progressive and Dalits organisations, and was supported by the Congress party, Hotel Owners' Association and other organisations in the city.

The general public, students and labourers were the worst hit as the bus service was not available in the morning hours. Patients and tourists had to shell out extra money for the autorickshaws who tried to make the most out of the crisis.
