Water, power will be cut if mobile towers' rent is not paid: CMC

UDUPI City Municipal Council (CMC) has decided to initiate action against property owners who leased out spaces for mobile towers but failed to pay the rent of Rs 12,000 per annum.
Following a recent survey of 94 mobile towers across the city, notices have been served to 85 towers for defaulting on payment. "The remaining property owners will be served the notices in the coming days," officials said.
The owners were asked to respond after the notices were issued.
The CMC has warned that if the dues are not cleared promptly, basic amenities like electricity and water supply will be disconnected.
