More than two dozen families living in Sulkeri-Mogru village in Belthangady of Dakshina Kannada will finally get power supply to their houses after a decades-long struggle.
MORE than two dozen families living in Sulkeri-Mogru village in Belthangady of Dakshina Kannada will finally get power supply to their houses after a decades-long struggle. On March 18, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) gave its approval to finally lay power lines in the village nestled in the Kudremukh National Forest.
The approval was given under Section '2(1)' of Van (Sanrakshan Evam Samvardhan) Adhiniyam, 1980 for diversion of 0.0647 ha. of forest land in Sy.No. 64 of Sulkeri Mogru village, Naravi RF, Belthangady taluk, Dakshina Kannada district for laying/establishing of 11 KV H/T, AB Bunch Cable transmission line from Sulkeri Mogru to Panjala and Mallige enclosure passing through Naravi RF, Karkala Wildlife Division, Belthangady Taluk, D.K. District.
