Says without a bridge, islanders struggle to access the mainland, especially during rain
The long-pending demand of Pavoor Uliya islanders to have a permanent bridge to gain access to the mainland has been finally met. Legislative Assembly Speaker and Mangaluru MLA UT Khader on Sunday said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has given the green signal for constructing a hanging bridge at an estimated cost of Rs 12 crore, and the same is likely to be approved by the state cabinet in its next meeting.
