|June 16, 2025
The Rajasthan government has directed the police department to remove all Urdu and Persian words in official documents and replace them with Hindi.
MoS for Home Dept Jawahar Singh Bedham has asked the DGP to prepare a proposal on replacing Urdu and Persian words currently used in documents, letters, reports, notice boards and other communication with Hindi terminology.
"The proposal will be reviewed and implemented at the appropriate administrative level," said the minister's letter to the DGP. Bedham also cited that a letter was also written in this regard on September 30, 2024.
