No let-up in cracker unit accidents despite inspections

BETWEEN July 2024 and March this year, a total of 3,046 inspections were held at cracker manufacturing units across the district, resulting in issuance of 741 explanatory notices and action against 85 manufacturing units.
Pointing to the cracker accidents that occurred in recent times "without abatement", activists raise doubts about the effectiveness of such inspections ahead of Deepavali this year.
