CJI: Bench Will Be Set Up To Hear Justice Varma's Plea Over Probe

WITH the process of his impeachment in progress in Parliament for his alleged misconduct in connection with the cash recovery case, Allahabad High Court Justice Yashwant Varma on Wednesday urged the Supreme Court to urgently list his appeal challenging the in-house inquiry report which found him guilty.

Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for Varma, argued before the three-judge bench headed by CJI B R Gavai, that crucial constitutional matters were involved in the case.
