IF ALL GOES as planned, Malappuram will soon be home to a state-of-the-art football stadium built to FIFA standards.

The state government has directed Calicut University to identify suitable land within its campus for the ambitious project.

In response, university authorities have begun the process of selecting an appropriate site. A recent inspection was conducted by a team comprising syndicate sports standing committee convener M B Faisal, syndicate members L G Lijeesh and T J Martin, head of the department of physical education V P Zakeer Hussain, and university engineer C K Mubarak.
