IT has been a year since 15-year-old Afnan Jasim from Thikkodi made a remarkable recovery from primary amoebic meningoencephalitis, a rare and deadly disease with a staggering 97% mortality rate. Afnan's journey was nothing short of miraculous, and his story is a testament to the power of hope, resilience, and exceptional medical care.

He was discharged from the hospital on July 22, 2024. He spent 22 days in ICU, fighting for his life, and the experience left an indelible mark on his life. Afnan, who was a Class 10 student last year, scored 5 A Plus, 3 A Grade and 2 B Plus in the SSLC exam this year. Now he is studying in Plus One. Despite the challenges he faced, Afnan emerged stronger and more determined than ever.
