Under 'Kanavu' empowerment project, driving licences were issued to 40 tribal women
SUCCESSFUL tribal community empowerment programmes along with the 'Kanavu' project launched with the support of the sub regional transport office in Devikulam have enabled the Marayur Community Development Society (CDS) to bag the state government award for the best CDS in the state in tribal activities.
Minister for Local Self Government Department M B Rajesh handed over the award to the CDS and Marayur panchayat authorities during the 'Kudumbashree Day' celebrations held in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday.
Marayur panchayat president Deepa Aruljyothy said that various tribal development activities initiated under the leadership of CDS in the tribal settlement area had enabled them win the award.
