THE Left combine on Friday failed to recreate the magic of the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections.
Like other members of the Mahagathbandhan — the opposition bloc— the CPI, the CPM and the CPI(ML) Liberation performed poorly, with their collective tally shrinking to just three seats. The CPIML-Liberation won two seats—Paliganj and Karakat and the CPM bagged only the Bibhutipur Assembly seat, while the CPI drew a blank.
