Mother alleges that the teachers tortured him over poor academic performance and threatened Bhavath for keeping long hair
THREE teachers have been suspended in connection with the suicide of a student in Kannur. Bhavath Manav E V, 16, a Plus-I science batch student of Kambil Mopla Higher Secondary School was found hanging at his home on January 8. Following the incident, Bhavath's family had alleged that he faced severe harassment from the teachers.
The Higher Secondary Regional vice principal suspended Girish, Anand and Aneesh - the physics, botany and mathematics teachers, respectively, for 15 days. Departmental action was taken after student organisations including SFI, MSF and KSU staged protests in front of the school.
