HP Suffers ₹4K Cr Loss in 95 Flash Floods, 135 Major Landslides This Monsoon

HIMACHAL Pradesh has suffered losses of ₹4,079 crore this monsoon season following 45 cloudbursts, 95 flash floods and 135 major landslides triggered by heavy rainfall in the state between June 20 and September 7.

According to data from the State Emergency Operation Centre, 366 people have died in rain-related incidents and road accidents. Of them, 203 deaths were directly linked to rain disasters—42 in landslides, 17 in cloudbursts and nine in flash floods—while 41 people remain missing. Another 163 lost their lives in road accidents.
